The incubation period of COVID-19 ranges between 1 and 14 days, with the majority of cases manifesting within 3 to 5 days. The host immune system reacts to the infection by producing specific IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 and is detectable in COVID-19 patients during the symptomatic phase of the disease after sometimes RNA may no longer be detectable. The persistence of IgG antibodies allows identification of people who had been infected in the past, and likely have recovered from the illness. It is unknown if IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 confer immunity to infection. The detection of IgG assay plays an important role in the disease surveillance.

Q-Line® Rapid Coronavirus (COVID-19) IgG Antibody Test Kit is intended for the detection of specific IgG antibodies against SARS CoV-2 in human plasma and serum. The persistence of the COVID- 19 IgG antibodies proves to be a valuable tool in identifying people who have been infected and likely to recover from the illness. Though it is unknown that the IgG against SARS CoV-2 confer any immunity yet, its detection plays an important role in disease surveillance.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization. In normal pregnancy, hCG can be detected in both urine and serum as early as 7 to 10 days after conception. hCG levels continue to rise very rapidly, frequently exceeding 100 mIU/mL by the first missed menstrual period, and peaking 100,000-200,000 mIU/mL about 10-12 weeks into pregnancy. The appearance of hCG in both the urine and serum soon after conception, and its subsequent rapid rise in concentration during early gestational growth, make it an excellent marker for the early detection of pregnancy.

Q-Line Rapid β-hCG Pregnancy Test is a rapid test that qualitatively detects the presences of hCG in urine specimen. The test utilizes a combination of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to selectively detect elevated levels of hCG in urine.

Syphilis is an infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum that is most often spread by sexual contact, such as through direct contact with a syphilis sore (chancre), a firm, raised, painless sore. The most common syphilis tests detect antibodies in the blood that are produced in response to a T. pallidum infection. Syphilis is easily treated with antibiotics but can cause severe health problems if left untreated. An infected mother can also pass the disease to her unborn child, with serious and potentially fatal consequences for the baby. There are several possible stages with syphilis:

Primary syphilis—the primary stage begins about 2-3 weeks after being infected. During the first (primary) stage of syphilis, patient may notice a single sore or multiple sores. The sore usually lasts 3 to 6 weeks and heals regardless of whether or not you receive treatment.
Secondary syphilis—if primary syphilis is left untreated, secondary syphilis may occur from 6 weeks to 6 months after the chancre first appears. This stage usually starts with a rash on one or more areas of body. Other symptoms patients may have can include fever, swollen lymph glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss, headaches, weight loss, muscle aches, and fatigue
Late, tertiary syphilis—if untreated, secondary syphilis may continue into a latent stage, during which an infected person has no symptoms but continues to have the infection, and this stage can last for years. In these cases, the bacteria can damage the heart, eyes, brain, nervous system, bones, joints, or almost any other part of the body.

Q-Line® Rapid Syphilis Antibody Test (device) is an immunoassay for the rapid and visual detection of antibodies to Treponema pallidum in human serum or plasma to aid in the diagnosis of syphilis.

Hepatitis C is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). It is the most common blood-borne viral infection in the United States. Around 2.4 million people in the United States are living with a diagnosis of hepatitis C. However, many people with the infection do not know that they have it. Hepatitis C virus causes both acute and chronic infection. New HCV infections are usually asymptomatic. Some person’s get acute hepatitis which does not lead to a life-threatening disease. Around 30% (15-45%) of infected persons spontaneously clear the virus within 6months of infection without any treatment. The remaining 70% (55–85%) of persons will develop chronic HCV infection. Of those with chronic HCV infection, the risk of cirrhosis ranges between 15% and 30% within 20years.

The virus is spread by contact with contaminated blood; for example, from sharing needles or from unsterile tattoo equipment. Most people have no symptoms. Those who do develop symptoms may have fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite and yellowing of the eyes and skin.

Q-Line® Rapid HCV (3rd generation) Antibody Test Kit is intended for the detection of antibodies against SARS CoV-2 in human plasma and serum. It is intended for screening blood donors before transfusion and the individuals at risk for HCV infection in a clinical lab setup.

Hepatitis B infection is one of the most common infectious diseases of global significance. The infection is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV) that infects the liver, causing hepatocellular necrosis and inflammation. HBV infection can be either acute or chronic, or the associated illness ranges in severity from asymptomatic to symptomatic, progressive disease. Chronic hepatitis B (CHB), defined as persistence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) for six months or more is a major public health problem. Worldwide, there are an estimated 240 million chronically infected persons, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs); causing 650,000 deaths annually due to CHB.

The HBV is transmitted through direct contact with infected blood. This can happen through direct blood-to-blood contact, unprotected sex, unsterile needles, unsterile medical or dental equipment, and from a HBV infected mother to her baby at birth. Since HBV is a silent infection there can be years before it is detected. Children are especially vulnerable to chronic HBV. More than 90% of babies and up to 50% of young children infected with HBV will remain chronically infected, and most will have no symptoms and remains undetected until it is caught in routine blood work, blood donation, or later in life after there is liver inflammation or disease progression. In Asia, vertical transmission from mother to child is particularly common; whereas in Africa, horizontal transmission at a young age may be more likely. The infection is preventable by vaccination.

Q-Line® Rapid HBsAg Antibody Test Kit is intended for the detection of HBsAg in human serum, Plasma and whole blood. It is intended for screening blood donors before transfusion and the individuals at risk for hepatitis B, in a clinical lab setup.

Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is caused by either HIV-1 or HIV-2 or by both. They are mainly transmitted by unprotected sexual contact, exposure to infected blood through a syringe, needle, and blood transfusion or from mother to fetus and through breast feeding. Belonging to the retrovirus class, both HIV1 and HIV 2 share many similarities including their basic gene arrangement, modes of transmission, intracellular replication pathways and clinical consequences: both result in AIDS. However, HIV-2 is characterized by lower transmissibility and reduced likelihood of progression to AIDS. In terms of epidemiology, HIV-2 remains largely confined to West Africa, whereas HIV-1 extends worldwide.

Q-Line® Rapid HIV 1/2 Antibodies Test Kit is intended for the detection of HBsAg in human serum, Plasma and whole blood. It is intended for screening blood donors before transfusion and the individuals at risk for HIV, in a clinical lab setup.

Dengue is an arboviral disease that has rapidly spread throughout the tropics of the world. Dengue virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes mainly of the species Aedes aegypti and, to a lesser extent, Ae. albopictus. Dengue is caused by a virus of the Flaviviridae family and there are four distinct, but closely related, serotypes of the virus that cause dengue (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4).

Q-Line Rapid Dengue Combo test kit is intended for detecting both; the antigen and differential IgM/IgG antibodies to dengue virus in human serum or plasma. NS1 antigen is generally found up to day 9 onset of fever. The detection of NS1 is inhibited when anti-NS1 antibodies are produced. IgM become detectable by day 3 to day 5 after onset of illness in primary dengue and by day 1 to day 2 after onset of illness in secondary infections. Thus the combo device has been made to diagnose the different phase of the current infection.

Dengue is a systemic febrile illness lasting 3 to 7 days and characterized by viremia, fever, rash, headache, muscle and joint ache. Occasionally, dengue manifests as dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF), a potentially life-threatening illness associated with capillary leakage, hemorrhagic manifestations and, in severe cases, hypovolemic shock. An estimated 400 million people are infected each year around the world with severity ranging dengue fever to DHF.

The rapidly emerging pandemic disease cause a major health problem in the tropics with possibilities of extension to other geographic areas, across the world. Four viruses (DENV-1 to DENV-4), classified as flaviviruses and mainly transmitted to humans by the Aedes egypti and, to a lesser extent, Ae.albopictus mosquitos, constitute the etiological agents of the disease.

Q-Line Rapid Dengue NS1 Antigen kit is intended for the qualitative detection of a non structural protein antigen NS1 of dengue virus, which was released into the blood during the infection. NS1 test is very sensitive and is detectable in the plasma or serum during the acute phase of dengue virus infections (0-7 days).

Malaria is caused by Plasmodium parasites. The parasites are spread to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes, called “malaria vectors.” There are 5 parasite species that cause malaria in humans, and 2 of these species – P. falciparum and P. vivax – pose the greatest threat. In 2018, P. falciparum accounted for 99.7% of estimated malaria cases in the WHO African Region 50% of cases in the WHO South-East Asia Region, 71% of cases in the Eastern Mediterranean and 65% in the Western Pacific.P. vivax is the predominant parasite in the WHO Region of the Americas, representing 75% of malaria cases.

According to the latest World malaria report, released on 30 November 2020, there were 229 million cases of malaria in 2019 compared to 228 million cases in 2018. The estimated number of malaria deaths stood at 409 000 in 2019, compared with 411 000 deaths in 2018.

Q-Line Rapid Malaria P.f-P.vKit is intended for the detection ofPf Histidine Rich Protein 2 (HRP2) of the Plasmodium falciparum species

and PAN plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (PAN-pLDH) of Plasmodium species in human whole blood. It is intended for screening blood donors before transfusion and the individuals at risk for Malaria, in a clinical lab setup.
